Gunderson Dettmer is an international law firm dedicated exclusively to venture capital investors and startup companies. Their new Playa Vista office situated in the heart of “Silicon Beach” seeks to attract a younger demographic of clientele and staff alike. Attention to detail and materiality were a driving force behind this design.

The reception area is a playful and quirky space with custom painted peach concrete flooring and a dual toned reception desk. It is flanked by meeting rooms and a large board room, featuring acoustic felt baffles and plush carpeting that provide both an aesthetic and functional purpose.

An architectural cadence and rhythm were considered along the corridor of office storefronts, establishing a clean and modern aesthetic. In addition to sliding glass doors, sleek steel framing elements were used at critical junctures between offices and adjacent gathering spaces to enhance the premium look and feel of the space.
